Is this central new york winter weather bad for my Florida car?!?
I just bought a 04 pontiac grand am at a auction a few months ago and since it was made its been driven in miami florida and now that i have it, its winter and i already feel the car starting to do weird things and Alot of cracking sounds. we get like 12degree weather everyday in the winter. but i do let my car warm up every morning for about 7-8mins. but anyway you think i will have alot of problems with this car?? since it was always in a warmer climate and now its in the cold.
the car is also VERY low to the ground and the front hits the road a lot when i back out of a hilly driveway or a bumpy road. but is there anyway i get it raised up higher? you know what i mean?
the car is so cold in the morning that if i start it up and put it in drive it just sits there for a minute then kicks into gear its so cold.
As far as the cold weather, I wouldn’t worry about it.
Also good job letting it warm up, smart man.
If you are worried about it and it is getting really really
cold you can get a plug installed with a heater core
to plug up to an extension cord at night. In my opinion
it would be a waste of money.
As far as the height, you can add a leaf spring to it and that
should get it how you want it, but if it is just in the back and
you just need a little you could get slightly bigger tires if you
wanted to.
I would just buy one of those “add a leaf” kits. You just put
in how much you want until you get the height you want.
That will fix ya.
